I have been here about a week now and its been an adventure in itself. First few days were spent in Bangalore living the "westernized" life where we were at pubs , driving around in cars, visiting nice hotels... I even pampered myself to a day spa at the "LEELA PALACE" a beautiful 7 star hotel.... it is majestic. AND , the ayurvedic treatments still maintained authenticity. After a few days of settling in and living it up, i guess. I jumped on a local train to Mysore, India. Mysore is known for its silk, sandalwood, and incense. Recently it has boomed as a yoga destination thanks to Patthabi Jois and Ashtanga Yoga. As I had no plan at the conception of my India trip, I decided on mysore only after a girl from japan sat next to me on the plane and ended up being a yogi traveling to mysore to study. I took it as a sign and decided mysore is where I am to be this time. I found Vinay Kumar the teacher i am studying with via the internet and a few email conversations. There is something to be said about how and why we end up where we do. I just keep trying to step forward and follow my instinct. So here I am in mysore , I will be here for 2 weeks studying 5 hours a day am looking forward to it. The mosquitos on the other hand, i do not enjoy :-)
Since i have limited access to internet here, i have been typing my posts and will have to blog them in bunches. Makes for more reading pleasure. Off to the Mysore Palace.
