I love my lululemon bags because they are full of inspiration... the quotes are absolutely brilliant! The one that stands out on the corner of mine is "do one thing a day that scares you" ... hmmm.... I like to think of this as saying - step out of your comfort zone and really experience life. I think of myself as an adventurous being and always up for trying something new and exciting... it was put to a test this weekend. I decided I wanted to go sailing on Saturday (for the first time) and relax on a boat with my vino, my yoga poses, and my sunshine! Hahahaha... the universe had something else in mind ... I think someone, somewhere needed a good laugh so they decided to put this yogini, who is scared of water, in a boat on choppy water and made her learn all about sailing, getting lost in the bay, trusting her friends, breathing into relaxation, and at the end laughing it off! I did end up on a sailboat but it was far from relaxing and the vino bottle was never opened, it was an unforgettable experience though! My findings for the day:
- Steering a boat is hard work
-tacking lines gets easier with time
- trust is hard but sometimes you have to let go of the fear and the what ifs and just enjoy the journey for what it is, even if that means you are 2 inches away from the water!
- you can't simply be where you want to be by simply snapping your fingers. The journey to be had unfolds in every situation. ( I was tempted to call someone and tell them to get the me the heck out of this boat and the water!!!)
- I love land!
- I love adventure! :)
Think about what scares and see if you can face your fears. Its not always about being extreme but sometimes something as simple as smiling at a stranger or opening your heart up to someone and exposing yourself can be more frightening than the ocean waves, but with the fear comes the exhiliration and excitement! Can't wait to see what tomorrow holds...
