Fall equinox and Week 3

Happy Fall Equinox .... as the change of the season comes upon us we must take the time to shed and clean out all that was processed over the summer season and make room for the Fall . Fall is a time of change ...what better time to cleanse !

My soul sista Tracy posted this overview about week 3 on her blog and I absolutely love it !

Now it's time to get serious. The dreaded week of liquids has arrived. This is the week of intense cleansing!!
Here are upgrades for this week:
- Avoid all animal products
- Eat uncooked, blended food all day (the ultimate healing recipe is energy soup, there are different variations of the recipe...click the link for one version)
- Refrain from intoxicants & toxins
- 30 minutes of daily excercise
- 30 mintues of daily quite time
- Drink 2 L of purified water daily
- Take 1-4 oz shot of wheatgrass daily
- Take a hot bath using 1 cup of Epsom salt every night (i mix some essential oil in my Epsom salt- you will LOVE the daily soak!) Epsom salts help absorb the toxins out of your body, relax muscles, and promote digestion
- Have a cup of detox tea every day (available at whole foods, trader joe's, etc. - i get the Republic of Tea "get clean" brand in a blue can)
- Consider taking an herbal digestive stimulator day 15 & 16 (try a magnesium/geranium blend...available at whole foods)
- Consider getting a colonic or do an enema on days 17, 18, & 19 (colon hydrotherapy is pricey, but your Flexible Spending Account should reimburse you...50,000 pounds of food is processed throug you body every 25 years...it's a great time to clean out the pipe!)
- Consider doing a 24 hour water fast on day 19

Yep, EVERYTHING goes in the blender this week!

Why blend?
Blended foods are concentrated with vital nutrients to support the body while at the same time giving the digestive organs a rest. The key difference in blended versus liquids is that blended contains all the nutrients plus the fiber for maximum detox, where liquids don't have nearly the amount of fiber.

And why all the need for fiber?
For our poop! How many times a day are you going? Are you going everyday? What color is your poop? Does it float? Do you have to light a match and close the door because of the smell? Healthy poop should happen daily, it should be tannish...unless you are taking in greens, then it should be more green. It should slide out effortlessly...and float...and not have a super strong smell.

But I digress...
*tips* for getting through the week: if you are pressed for time, have 16 oz of fresh vegetable juice from a juice bar instead of the blended lunch or dinner...if you are REALLY pressed for time have some OIdwalla Superfood or Naked Superfood (although it's pasteurized, and may have some preservatives).

Also drink LOTS-O water, it will keep you full!This will be a pretty intensive healing week, try to stay as low profile as possible (i know i will!), with lots of quiet time and rest for yourself to allow the healing to take place. A healing crisis can arise during a fast...dramatic emotions may come up with the release of toxins...the emotions may arise in waves as toxins are released....realizations may be made that are not usually appreciated under normal circumstances...jobs, relationships, belief systems can be challenged.

Be loving to yourself, make sure you are surrounded in calm, clean beauty at home. Your enviornment effects you. Give yourself space for much needed pampering...book a massage, a facial, or a healing session. Light candles, cozy up on the couch, read a book and relax in the evenings with some soft music! You owe it to yourself!
