Over the past couple of weeks it has become grossly obvious that we live in an iphone nation... everywhere I turn someone is either texting, talking, photographing, downloading, emailing, chatting, yelping, searching, mapping, oh the list goes on and on and on... everyone including ME! I found myself sliding that little bar on the bottom of my phone almost every few minutes and for no other reason than habit and curiosity. I would check my email, my messages and my facebook religiously! I must have jinxed myself with these thoughts because a couple of days later my iphone fell on the floor and broke. A day went by and it felt great, there was more time in the day and less worry about the latest facebook update and email. Unfortunately this feeling of freedom didn't last too long, a few days without the iphone and Im having withdrawals. I was at the studio yesterday and subconciously picked up someone else's phone. Minutes later I was driving around looking for a smoothie shop and wished I had my iphone map, I reached into my purse to pick up my old school replacement only to feel the iphone screen against my fingers, too bad it wasn't mine! So its official, I too am an iphone addict and have conformed to this WWW society. Constantly connected through the web waves but rarely through the sound and energy waves of in person meetings.
It brings up a question for me: How long can this last before the bubble bursts? Our spiritual beings cannot thrive under such technologically attached conditions. Perhaps this is part of the process that we must work through to experience true liberation. perhaps.
